As a young girl growing up in the Swiss Alps, Nicole Schmied (her maiden name) loved eating muesli — a mixture of rolled oats, dried fruit, and nuts.

When Nicole was in her twenties, she came to the United States with a backpack and a pair of skis. She taught skiing and learned English — and began preparing the tastiest granola and goodies.

For years, friends told her that she had to share her Swiss Bliss creations with others.
